Band Heaters

Mica band heaters
Mica band heater use for press plastification cylindres for injection molding machines or extruders.
Mica band heaters are the ideal solution for heating cylindrical surfaces in many other applications.
Advantages of the mica band heater
- Eccellent heat exchange to the cylinder.
- Heating uniformity.
- Very long life of the heater,if correctly used.
- Easy installation.
- High mechanical resistance.
Diameters
Starting from 60mm ,for heaters with a diameter over 480mm,it is preferable to choose 2 or more segment heaters with separate feeding.
Widths
Realizable widths starting from a min of 25 mm to a max 500mm with continuousness.
Tachnical Data.
- Specific wattage up to 4w/cm2.
- Working temperature up to 300 c.
- Internal treated steel sheet for a hith heat conductivity.
- External stainless steel .resistant to high temperature.
- Nickel chrome 80/20 resistive winding.
- Pure continuos nica insulation for high temperatures.
Assembly
For a correct assembly of these,it is necessary to check their perfectly tight fit with the cylinder to be heated,by tightening appropriately the fastening screws.
After approximately 30-40 minutes of heating,we advise a new testing of the screw in order to counterbalance thermal expansion.
For diameters higher than 200-300mm we particularly suggest the use of steel springs , which guarantee contantly a perfect couling with the cylinder.

Ceramic Insulated Band Heaters
Use
- Ceramic band heaters are the ideal solution for heating cylindrical surfaces in many other applications.
- For heating press plastification cylinders for injection moulding machines or extruders.
Advantages of the ceramic band heater
- It is very important underlining that for this heater, heat exchange takes place both for conduction and radiation.
- Very long life of the heater, if correctly used.
- High mechanical resistance.
- Easy installation.
- Eccellent heat exchange to the cylinder.
- Uniform heating.
- Steady quality in time.
- Energy saving is an important characteristic because ther ceramic fibre layer, placed between the ceramic and the external casing, reduces of aboute 20% energy consumption, if compared to a normal mica band heater.
Diameters
- Starting from 70mm. For heaters with a diameter over 500mm, it is preferable to
choose 2 or more section heaters with separate feedings.
Widths
- In this case, widths are determined by the distance between the holes inside the
ceramic blocks and, therefore, we have worked out the following table with the
standard widths in mm.
Technical features
- Nickel-Chrome 80/20 resistive winding.
- Ceramic fibre insulation.
- Working temperature up to 500C.
- External stainless steel sheet (AISI 430), resistant to high temperatures.
- Fiberglass insulated feeding cable with pure nickel.
- Nickel-plated copper conductors, externally protected metal braiding (built-in earth wire).
